Default how to repair remote not working

tips on why the remote is inop

I took it apart hoping the battery was unsoldered like the remote for our 06, no such luck

I checked it with a meter battery is charged the remote

note: the remote is not made to come apart and will need to be crazy glued back together, I used gorilla brand seems to work well

it is actually a little difficult to pry open for obvious reasons, just be careful not to lose the springs and button for the key, remove your extra keys it will make reassembly easier

if your remotes do not work and water has gotten in from clogged drains etc., pull the passenger front plastic door sill up it is held with metal clips, it will reveal this harness.
look for 3 thin wires green with white stripe, found the 3 wires and stripped them back to clean wire, added an extension wire soldered and shrink tube now the remote works

Here is a pic of the wires

The rust in the pic is from the metal spring clips that holds down the sill plate

The other issue with remotes

The lithium battery in the remote is perminant and soldered in, it charges through the ignition switch, its around 3volt battery, the battery comes unsoldered

The remote is sealed and not meant to be opened

I have fixed 1, open the key and get in the slot with something to pry the halves apart it takes a lot of effort

When it opens do not lose pieces of the key, there is key, spring, button and metal piece for keyring

Use a multi meter to test battery around 3v iirc

Fix the solder joints

Try remote, it should work now

Reassemble and super glue the case together( you can also try a cheap new eBay case) you will need to wind the key spring some sorry for no pics
