Land rovr recall on lr3

Hi, i just noticed that there was a recall on my model :

2005 Land Rover LR3 Recall ID from NHTSA: 05V376000
Auto Recall Date: 08/29/2005
Vehicle Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE
Estimated Vehicles Affected: 17263
2005 LAND ROVER LR3 Defect Summary:
SOME SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY HAVE FUEL TANKS THAT CONTAIN AN INTERNAL BREATHER PIPE THAT WAS NOT MADE TO SPECIFICATION. THIS COULD RESULT IN EXCESSIVE SWELLING AND CRACKING OF A GROMMET AND SUBSEQUENT DETACHMENT OF THE BREATHER PIPE FROM A CONNECTOR TUBE. WHEN THE FUEL LEVEL IN THE TANK IS ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE DETACHED JOINT, FUEL MAY THEN ENTER THE BREATHER PIPE.
Defect Consequence:
THE DRIVER MAY NOTICE FUEL ODOR, DRIVABILITY CONCERNS SUCH AS HESITATION, MISFIRE, STALLING, ROUGH RUNNING, OR DIFFICULTY IN STARTING AND THE 'CHECK ENGINE' LIGHT MAY BE ILLUMINATED. IF THE AMOUNT OF FUEL FLOWING INTO THE BREATHER PIPE REACHES THE VAPOR CANISTER AND EXCEEDS ITS CAPACITY, THE EXCESS FUEL MAY BE DISCHARGED ONTO THE GROUND. FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL TANKS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 24, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT LAND ROVER AT 1-800-637-6837.
Notes: LAND ROVER, B016

*The thing is i called them today and gave them my vin and they told me they havent being a recall for this car.

My car has the check engine on! and every time i fill the tank to full , the gasoline comes out from the lower part of the car, and theres gas odor!!.

My question is, they told me they are going to call me in two days, if they call me and tell me that my car dosent report that recall or whatever! when i know it has that problem, what should i do?

I live in the DOminican Republic (caribbean) and bougth my car in the USA, and for what ive heard the dealers over here dont replace anything that they havent sold, at least that land rover i guess, call them!!...

soo, please guys help me.

you car needs it, if they are a land rover dealership, they should take care of it. not entirely sure on the dominican part though.
