LR3 05 V 06 model years and build dates
 

Hi, so i have been told by various people including LR techs to avoid the 05 model year in the LR3 for various reasons mostly to do with the Wiring routing and the problems this can cause. the problem is i already own two LR3's that are late 06 registrations and am looking at another 06 model year that seems to actually be an 05 build. My question is if anyone can answer it is how do you find the actual build date of your LR and when did the changes come in effect that makes an 06 model year 05 Build ok? yep difficult question.

Wait what's up with the wiring? My '05 seems fine, electrically.

Fro m what i can gather the 05 had some transmission issues and problems with some Wiring corrosion and pinching of the wires where the wires where run, the transmission issues and wiring where sorted in the 06 year. not that is what i can gather from posts on here and speaking to a couple of LR techs but i do not have specifics, i am going to ask that question on another post.

Sure...please do. I don't want to jinx myself but no issues like that at all on mine. I'd think the corrosion issues would have more to do with water ingress unless you mean under the vehicle. In that case, my assortment of aftermarket skid plates could be protecting my wires.
