LR3 delay hesitant 1-2 shift

Hi there,
I had the trans pan, tube and filter changed with the new 2 piece offering that they came out with. Save a bunch of $$ on trans pan service. Since the service the 1-2 up shift is often slamming, choking feels like not building up fluid pressure for a nice shift. It is different that before the service. the mechanic that did the service, whom I trust, went with a fluid that met all of the specs.

The previous owner had done a full fluid flush with BG conditioning fluid, did not drop the pan(which was leaking thus I did the service to avoid burning up a trans that you can't check the level on) I believe most what was lost in the pan service was replaced with cheaper supposedly appropriate fluid.
Any suggestions? He said the pan looked good and clean, has 117k on it.
Another full fluid flush? I have driven 1000 miles since the service and hasn't worked itself out. It doesn't do it in sport as the shift is held to a higher rpm which then feels normal. It does hang up a bit when downshifting to pass on highway with slight firm shift.

Thank you and let it be known the Atlantic British now sells the 2 piece kit for these transmissions. about $150

How much is the OE pan?

This is just my opinion, but there are only 3 fluids that I would put in our transmission; the Land Rover sold fluid, ZF Lifeguard 6, and the Ford Mercon SP fluid. I can't tell you whether the fluid you put in is causing the issue, but there are a couple other things to check:

1. Does the technician who serviced your transmission know how to properly fill it? Ours are a little finicky in that they must be running when checking the level and the fluid must be in a certain temperature range. If you just fill it while cold until fluid comes out of the fill hole, it will be underfilled. If you fill it while running, but with cold fluid, it will be overfilled.

2. Have you reset the transmission adaptive values since changing the fluid? This is a procedure that is supposed to be carried out whenever changing the fluid or servicing the transmission.

thank you! He did monitor temp and used proper fluid. Didn't reset adaptive valves.

I missed the simple way to reply. I think the kit was about $150 and that was with a metal pan

I was wondering about the OEM plastic pan....
