LR3 Heater not good in cold

I am wondering if anyone could point me to a good grill cover for my 2005 LR3 SE V8? Now that it's -21 the heater is not working well so I am assuming that its because its to cold outside or could it be another issue?

Thanks

Yes, the engine thermostat.

-21C or F, regardless that is not cold for the 3, only getting cold, chilly one might say. -21F is -29C

I just returned north yesterday from a 600 km (400 mile), trip back from Fernie BC where the dash temp display hovered between -20C and -26C for the trip, also similar going down.

I was wearing only a feather down vest and had the heater on automatic. Water temperature on my ScanGauge II showed 195F; om summer it normally sits at about 197F. I do not have anything covering the stock grill.

The rear heater was set on automatic and I did not hear the fans in operation so I would say they were going at normal speeds, certainly not like when on defrost where they scream. Radio volume levels were what would be regarded as normal.

My first guess is that your engine thermostat may need replacement.

Spot on. Replaced thermostat and all is perfect. THX

-32C today north to St Paul.

I drove up to St Paul today, (small town north east of Edmonton). For a short while I noticed -32C on the display but the average this morning was about -26C. We are not getting the heat wave you are experiencing today; -5C or so I saw down south.

That is good news re the thermostat being the solution. That is one reason I have the Scan Gauge II installed, so I can keep track of what is going on temperature and voltage wise. The LR temp gauge is just for really bad news and the alternator light, well I am not certain. All I know is that when the battery is dead, the light does not work.
