Default Transfer case - 60,000 miles

I just checked and note I should be changing the transfer case oil again but I will wait for spring as I do not like tearing things apart in the winter.

60,000 miles rolls around faster than one would think.

I cannot claim any scientific reason for my numbers - Land Rover says etc - not, but that would appear to be what I have been doing.

The good news is that other than metal filings on the magnetic plugs, all has been good on differentials and the transfer case, (also the tranny), so I tend to think something is being done right.

I have 186,000 miles, (300,000 km), on my 3 now.

That sounds about right Bruce. It does help to keep changing that oil.

I don't think anyone ever said "darn, I wish I hadn't maintained that so well".

I have been really diligent on my (new) diffs. Once installed I changed oil every couple thousand miles until it all came out clean and no metal. Now I'll go 15k on diffs.

T-Case I did at 75k and I may go to 135k since that takes longer these days (I don't drive it as much).

Tranny, I did fluid (but not filter) at ~100k. I may do that again at 150k.

Engine oil every 3750 miles.
