Parking Sensors not working
 

I have a 2007 LR3, the front and rear parking sensors recently stopped working (three months ago). Most of the time the system is dead...no beeeps, no light on the dash, and when you push the pdc button on the dash nothing at all happens.

Occasionally (once or twice a month) when I start the car, I head the beep and the sensors work perfectly. Next time I get in the car, they are not working again.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same intermittent issue. Fixed by replacing battery. The battery had a few dead cells and wasn't providing enough juice on start to properly start all the accessories.

IMHO, even if you don't purchase the battery from them, have a store test your battery volts / alternator amps / starter drain for free. In addition to the dead cell issue, it can detect an alternator that has a bad diode or other internal part, which would keep it from charging the new battery fully.

You could have the codes read to see what its saying.

At the same auto parts store. Where you can buy your own basic reader as well, a very handy tool indeed.

No, you need a hawkeye or similar product to read anything on these vehicles.

The_cud...Thanks for the help!! Can't tell you how apreciated it is. It is 16 degrees here in PA today, the battery seemed weak so I replaced it. The parking sensor problem went away.

If I had 100 guesses, I would have never thought it was related to the battery. In fact, until this extremely cold day, the battery seemed perfect.
