hi-as a new member i wonder if anyone has any experience with the perilli scorpion atr? with the 19in wheel you are limited to tire choice.goodyear just told me no 19in tire will be issued. guess i will have to get 18in wheels and go with the silent armor.

remember you can get the goodyear wrangler mt in the 19" that is a sweeeet tire

You have your job cut out for you.
The Perilli is a well designed tire, great traction but the rubber is so soft they wear out quickly.
What do you do with your Rover, much wheelinh, have you thought about going to 18's like so many others have?

The LR3 is an extremely heavy SUV and as we all know, tends to eat lesser soft compound tires for breakfast. As Mike already asked, what is going to be your use style so that we can better sugest?

i am going to do some off roading-but mainly on road.my main concern is i have a house in northern wisc.and go up there a lot in the winter. i want to have a tire that is good in the 3 non snow seasons but is pretty good in snow/possible ice.

In that case, I hate to seem like I only recomend one tire but the truth is that you just described a "picture perfect" situation for needing Goodyear Silent Armours. Simply put, it is the most silent and comfortable tire you'll find in the "all terrain" sector, with enough agresiveness on the tread to handle just about any off road situation, and with the iceburg/snowflake mark meaning it's been identified by the RMA as an extreme snow/Ice tire.

If you were never going to see snow or if your off road habits were more intense and more frequent, I might have gone with something else, but as you describe your needs, you have Silent Armour written all over it. Best sizes for the LR3 are 265/60/18 or 265/65/18 for an extra 1/2 inch clearance and factory load specs.

Got the new Pirelli ATRs on for about 1000 miles on my 19" rims. So far, I like them a lot. Super quiet in the hwy, sporty in the curves and do well off road. Time will tell how long they will last.
