We just read EcU, how do you save the config or info.

we got truck started, menu-control config, it also read some stuff, then nothing to save.

Abram says to turn off car, swap clusters then proceed.

im guessing the config that was saved into lala land since gap and software stay connected the entire process

Everything Abram has in his instructions under finalizing does not work

Sorry, this site hates VPNs and I am also replacing my AC compressor today.

So it is only the finalizing bit that you can not get past? Truck starts fine? That last bit under finalizing is to install a software update. The reason it says desired version is because there was a modification made for older clusters. I think you said you are putting a newer 2008 cluster? If so that may be the hang up. You may not even have to update actually and just skip to the last two items under finalizing.

Everything up and running and tested well past couple of days. Been making excuses to go somewhere, start stop start. I can't get it to mess up.

Now for fun stuff like flush brake and power steering fluids, front/rear diff fluid changes, transfer case fluid change, etc.

BTW, anyone know how to properly seat that annoying plastic piece/panel right in front of the Cluster. I pop it into the slots but will not pop down. Just sits tilted and rattling away.

Funny thing, I wasn't getting a electrical read out on my cluster showing voltage output while started.. Like the feature, but went away.. Need to check GAP options and see if I can put it back in there.

Thats a feature of the hidden menu if you still have the factory head unit.

so I can turn that back on using the GAP?

The old cluster never showed it, and the “newer” replacement part only show for a while then it went away!

Not sure, i fitted an aftermarket head unit not long after getting my car so never used. If you google D3/LR3 hidden menu you can see if it still works.

Yes, voltage display is a feature you can change in the mobile app. However I think if it is up and you press the info button or such, it may go away? Basically I dont think it is persistent. Been a while cause I have adaptive cruise and it overrides the voltage display anyway.
