Default Right top brake light out when brakes

Hi every1
I encountered another problem after some heavy rain last few weeks. Right side top brake light is out when I step on the brake. There are 2 filaments on that top brake light. 1st is always on when you turn on the headlights. 2nd is only on when you step on the brake. The 1st is always on when I turn on the headlights so I know the bulb should NOT have problems?? Is it the so called "brake light switch" or "bad socket or bad ground" as some other posts suggested ?? If bad socket or bad ground, how to fix that ?? I took some photos to show you guys what the situation is below. As you can see the left side both filaments lit up when brakes. Right side just completely out for both filaments. Even the 1st filament is out when brakes. That is kinda weird.

Wrong lamps or lamps installed incorrectly. Also since there are two filaments, having one filament come on does not mean the lamp is okay, the other filament can be out. Pull fixtures, make sure lamps are correct and installed properly. The sockets kinda suck, they CAN be fitted wrong easily.

Hi there ... I got this car since 2014 and nothing related to the brake lights went wrong until now so I'm pretty sure all of those were original equipped. Hhmmm okay since u said 1 filament is out doesn't mean the whole bulb is good. I guess I can buy a new bulb to try it out or just swap the left side bulb to right side and see if it works. If it does, of course we know the bulb is bad. I will try that tomorrow first thing and report back.

I've had this exact issue when one of the two filaments in my light bulb went out. Just buy new bulbs (they always come in packs of 2) and replace it on both sides. The only two tools you need is a Philips screw driver to remove one screw holding the tail light in place, and a functioning brain. Watch a couple youtube videos to see how to take out the tail light. Shouldn't take more then 5 minutes if you know what you are doing, or 10 minutes if you really take your time.

Hi there
So 1 filament is still up but the other one doesn't when brakes means the bulb is bad? replacing the bulbs will solve the problem? Yea I saw a few youtube vids and I need to use a plastic shim to pop the whole housing out.

Use an old credit card or a plastic spatula. Works like a charm.
