Symptoms and Diagnosis....EAS
Hi all,
I have a 2006 HSE with 192k on the clock. I picked it up in March and at the time I noticed a little EAS leak. Overnight it will droop some (not a lot) and the compressor runs more often than it should. I am finally getting around to addressing it.
I put it in Off-Road Height and disconnected the negative terminal of the batt. I then measured each corner. Next morning the front was down a couple centimeters on either side (they were within a MM or two from one side to the other). The rear was up about a centimeter on either side. I get the occasional Suspension fault that says "too many attempts" and it usually goes away within 10 seconds.
The two front air shocks are new...had them installed last month. Since the rear is not dropping and the front is dropping together, I'm concluding that it's the front valve block that's hosed. Does this sound like an accurate diagnosis? Thanks in advance!

Every time we try and attempt a thoughtful and methodical approach to fixing cars, they always do something that defies any common sense. With that being said, it sounds like you are on the right track and I fixed my personal RRS with a front Block. It would drop overnight and actually raise while driving. I would be at a red light and randomly would drop an inch or two back down to proper height.
When you take the old one out, just look for signs of corrosion or desiccant. Either of those indicate failure of the drier.
