Thumping noise

I have a 06 LR3 with a thumping noise (like a tire would cause ) in right rear. I have eliminated tires rotated and noise still in right rear
I have changed rear drive shaft had play/roughness in rear u joint. No change in noise. It goes away off throttle or in neutral. I have raised in air and checked wheel bearing on that side heard no abnormal noises. Due have
noise in rear housing on right side possiable axle bearing? rear diff was replaced at 17k by dealer and I have 69k on it at this point. Fluid looks good
any help would be great thanks

Did you have it raised on a lift to listen for the noise. Its possible an exhaust shield is rubbing or a cable is rubbing against the driveshaft.

Yes have it on a rack. We work in automotive dealership (honda).
With up in air no noise from wheel bearing.
HAVE CHECKED PARKING BRAKE CABLE NO RUBBING

Have you checked the rear Swaybar Bushings? Before changing mine they made a thumping noise as you describe. Also my heat shield around the spare tire made one hell of a rattling/vibrating noise.

Drained rear end today lots of metal
I think bearing has come apart
Rear end was replaced by rover 50k miles ago is this normal?
Land rover offers reman for $1004. Or new for $1740
Which one better and or will last longer?

First you said "fluid looks good" and now you are saying lots of metal in rear end after draining it. Which is it? I think with these diffs the fluid change interval needs to be around 15 or 20k.

Had check at fill plug with finger fluid appeared clean
Drained from bottom plug today and caught in screen had lots of metal fragments and magnet was coated with shavings

Ahhhh.....

Back to original question what is better
Land rover new or reman?

Some wear and shedding is normal and expected. How bad was it? Did the diff plug magnet look like a Chia Pet that has been growing hair for a year?! I would hate to see you drop 900-1800 on diff unit to find out that wasn't the problem.
