Towing with an LR3

I occasionally tow my Porsche on a Uhaul trailer to and from track events if it's a long distance hike. My 05 tows it like it's not even back there.

But, I'm looking to upgrade to an LR4 and was seeing if anyone has ever towed an LR with another LR. I could fly in and drive home but there are a few within a few hundred miles so towing would be easier.

It should be fine. I have towed land rovers on a tow dolly behind my LR3 with no issue.

Awesome. Thank you sir!

No worries, just plan ahead on stopping as it is a lot of weight and remember it will be less of a speed demon

what vehicle did you use to pull the rover with a tow dolley?

Alphamale 06-19-2020 02:28 PM

Presumably the LR on the dolly was not an automatic.

I was about to ask if the drive shafts were disconnected.

I have towed other rovers behind the LR3 Disco II and my old Expedition. I always drop the shaft

Aah, ok. Then not a problem, just sometimes the info you leave out is the bit the uninformed 🤔 miss and end up breaking something😥.
