Transmission Fault Detected, Traction Reduced

I get this warning in my information screen about 1 in 4 times I crank my new LR3 (1200 miles on it - 600 were put on it to drive down to buy it). I haven't noticed any ill effects when I see this message, but it's in my head constantly while I drive it, and sometimes it seems like the engine races before changing from 1st to 2nd gear (like unreasonably high RPMs in a slow start from a redlight, say, 3K or so)... Perhaps it's in my head and this is normal, but I really really really don't want to take it to the shop yet..

Anyone else seen this before or know what it might mean? Again, doesn't happen every time, and the vehicle seems to drive the same whether I get that warning or not.

Thanks

If this has happened more than a few times then you have an issue that you need to bring to the attention of the Dealer. This is why Land Rovers have a warranty. They have the know how to rectify the issue. Don't sweat it.

Let's say it's happened 15 times over 45 days (and I crank it 4 times a day). As I said in my other post, I re-read my manual last night, for this post and my other one, and the manual says "No action required". How long should I wait before taking it in?

thanks for the response,

Clint

Schedule an appointment ASAP. While your there, buddy up with a salesman on your seat features.

I get Transmission faults once in a big while, not the "traction reduced" kind. Dealer told me that if it is a real transmission faul, it will shift automatically into "crawl home" mode and needs immediate attention. If the LR3 seems to be running fine then its a ghost fault and will most likely disapear if you shut off the truck and re-start, which has been the case so far for me. However, when in doubt, make the call.

90% of the time its a bad battery it will start but its not recoviring as fast as it should from the load. It drops the voltage low enough to cause miscomunication within modules. take it in to the dealer and have them take a look at it make sure they test the battery with gr1 battery analyzer. batterys have been know to have bad cells

I had this message and just got my LR3 back two weeks ago. I was told that the LR sent out a memo to the dealers saying that this 'issue' has come up and for the most part is an erroneous glitch of a message. They sent out a software patch/upgrade that corrected the issue. I haven't had the message since.
