I had the dealer service dept do it after I provided them all the relevant info and parts. I think they charged me a couple hours of labor. I believe gaining access is the toughest part. I consulted with LR Edmonton and they said the easiest thing to do is to drop (at least partially) the front diff so you can get to the frost plug that comes out and is replaced by the block heater. The parts were <$200.

Don't you live in CA?

Interesting that it is that labor-intensive...

Yeah California, I see what you're thinking... :D but I do see lower temps from time to time. Truck saw some good East Coast winters and a few trips to the mountains here during our amazing El Nino...

I don't use it unless the temps are in the mid-20s or lower. I don't think it's all that labor-intensive if you have the right equipment. May not be a DIY job as having a lift would be uber-helpful.

Hi guys

The user manual is your friend:

L319-04: User can choose between 3 firmwares:

• IPC MY07+: This firmware will add the clock display on 2005-2006 vehicles. When turning ON the headlamps on a 2005-2006 vehicle after the IPC was updated with this firmware, the AHCM (auxiliary heater, fitted on diesel vehicles) indicator light will turn ON. On 2007 and up vehicles, the logo for this particular lamp changed for the «headlamps ON» one. On 2005-2006 Petrol vehicles only, the amber «parking brake» indicator light replaces the «check engine» light.

• IPC MY07+ for pre MY07: This modified firmware version will also add the clock display on 2005-2006 vehicles but without any of the disadvantages found in the non modified version described above (IPC MY07+).

• IPC pre-MY07: This is the original firmware version found on 2005-2006 vehicles

Edit: For 2005 and 2006 vehicles, the IPC M07+ for Pre MY07 is the correct one. It adds the clock on dash without any of the disadvantages (FBH light will not turn on, «parking brake» and «check engine» lights will remain at the correct location).

That last post was useful, particularly the comment "Edit"

Did the RLM suspension update the other day for my hitachi. Noticed the manual states the RLM flash will fix the FBH light illuminated due to doing one of the IPC flashes.

FYI for anyone interested, did not see it posted up before. Added for posterity/someone doing a google on the issue.
