What are used Lr3's going for at auction?

If dealers are selling all these 140k mile lr3's for 7-10 grand, I figure they must be going for peanuts at auction, $4,000?

Does anyone w access to Manheim etc have a ballpark?

Thank you.

Great question! Can I also ask about an early LR4 HSE/LUX?
Only fear is you may need a lot of maintenance items on an auction truck. Do they even allow a cold start, engagement of transmission?

2-5K. My buddy goes to the auctions all of the time. They are typically screwed up with the occasional 'it was just a tail light bulb" or TCCM module issue. But on a whole, hammered.

muhahaha. That is an amazing bargain for truck with this much equipment...

Mind you I'm not a complete fool, only mostly, even the LR3 I rented for a week DIED for no reason on the freeway, the only tell tale was some cryptic message that said ENGINE PERFORMANCE NOT OPTIMAL

And then it straight up died, dead as Im going 65 in carpool lane rush hour traffic......

Yet...I loved the damn vehicle so much I still come back here, lurking lurking. I cannot believe how incredibly problematic these LR3's are... but I have the same sickness and I still want one. Truly incredibly vehicle, just so damn fun.

You can pick them up on Craigslist in the 5 range if you are a good negotiator.

Couple on Craigslist now for less than 5 in my neck of the woods

Compared to what? Sure my 3 has some minor issues, mostly due to my half hearted troubleshooting, but really no more than any other vehicle I’ve owned. Granted, I buy higher mileage vehicles that I pay cash for. Given the incredible complexity, weight, age, etc. I’d say they do pretty darn well.

Yeah....I was going to pick at this comment but didn't want to jack the thread. I don't think the LR3 is problematic at all. I think it's splendid, actually...it just has to be cared for by an attentive owner. That said, buying one pre-owned is a crapshoot and until you get it sorted, it can seem problematic, but it's really deferred maintenance. Stay ahead of it, and it will be an amazing ownership experience. Mine is 13 years old now; I have paid to keep it in tip-top shape, sure...but that's to keep it PERFECT, not merely to keep it on the road.

These days I TRY to spend $500-1000 a year just replacing things that I think are due, all voluntary, and it's 2005-fresh! (granted, I only put 3k a year on it).

The LR3 is the last of the finest.
