Default Improper third brake light repair at dealer

I purchased my second LR4 the week before Chrisrmas, 16.5 Landmark. On delivery I took it on a 2 Week Roadtrip for the holidays and found that the GPS was not operative along with several other smaller issues (middle sunroof shade and second row seat folding). The dealer of course took the vehicle in for service with a promise to fix the issues. After keeping it for a week I picked it up yesterday to find the sunroof was still broken and set up an appointment to have it picked up and taken in again. However this morning I took note of the repair on the GPS, which is now functional. The service advisor mentioned that they had to use an adhesive to reinstall the third brake light after they removed it while working on the GPS. When I saw the repair on the third brake light I found that it seem to be caulked-in like a kitchen sink. Previously when I wanted my third brake light replaced for cracks on my other LR4, the dealer said they were unable to do it because it had to be removed by a window glass specialist, which I found difficult to believe but I just said OK then.

My question to the forum is can anyone come up with a reason why they would've had to remove the third brake light to work on the GPS and is this repair method look acceptable? My feeling is that it should look the way it came from the factory and that I don't want that adhesive exposed to ultraviolet for the next 5 to 7 years while I own the truck. Not to mention that the vehicle is two weeks old and now has caulk smeared all over the back of it. I've uploaded a picture and I welcome any suggestions or feedback even if it's telling me to get over it.
