18” wheel with 2” lift

Dear all

A newbie here and just need some help please with my 2011 LR4.

I am converting my suspension from air to coil with a 2” lift.
Can someone please recommend what would be the proper tire size ?
thinking of 265/65/18 or 275/65/18. My ordering wheels of 18” already coming with 30mm spacers.

Thank you

You can do either.

I have 275x65x18 on a LR3 with lift rods. Some rubbing but not drastic.

265x65x18 are popular with air system incase the suspension system fails you can still ride on the bump stops. With 275's the wheels will not roll. With your coils this may not be a concern.

Note, you will have issues with the front brake calipers. The 18" wheels will not fit without replacing them or grinding them down. It is only about 2 millimeters so not much grinding but need to be careful not to ruin the caliper by grinding too much.

would the 30mm spacers help, so no need to do any grinding?

I don't know, I've never used spacers

Hmpf, spacers...

I hope for your driving pleasure and safety you consulted these two resources:

1. https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/
2. https://tiresize.com/pressure-calculator/

Cheers!

Which 18” wheels? My 18” Tuffants required no modification to fit. I believe the defender steel also fit. Are yours from Lucky8? They come with spacers to fit the LR4.

I was going to order from lucky8 but changed my mind and just ordered a set of Tuffant ET44, so yes no need spacers now:)
Do you have any lift? and curious what tire size you use.

I run Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek 265/65/18 XLs. They’ll fit even if I’m on the bump stops. Did you buy direct from Tuffant? Mine were under $1k for 5 bought direct. My tires aren’t E rated, just XL which is what comes on the car. So far, so good with many miles off road. But E rated is probably a better choice. Not a fan of spacers based on reading I’ve done, but I’m sure the Lucky8 is a good product. Did you get the steelies (Pilabra?) or the alloy? Mine are the steel original ones.

Yes, got the Pilabra. True though, try not to use spacers if possible.

The 18" wheels I was referring to are Land Rover from the LR3.
