2010 or 2011 LR4 Cost?

What are LR4s selling for these day? Are the stealerships getting MSRP? Close to it? What is Dealer Invoice on these trucks? Is there a Manufacturer's Holdback with LR?

Sorry so many questions. I currently own a RRS that we love, but the family is growing towards a third row, so it's looking like an LR4 is in our future...

Thanks in advance!

Not sure what part of the country you are in, so that may impact pricing and availability. From several conversations with the manager at the dealership where I purchased a year ago, he said inventory is tight! They can't get enough new cars and actually only have 7 new vehicles to sell total until they receive their next shipment in March. $500 off MSRP is all they are giving right now. This is the Bay Area, so even with 7 dealerships, there are pretty slim pickins right now. Most of the new production is going going to China and Russia, hence the limited availability in the US.

A year ago, when my wife and I purchased, we had a bit more leverage. I was able to negotiate across 5+ dealerships, including the LA area. Chase was also running a promo for financing where if you used them, the dealership would get another $1500 back. We used that as leverage, caught the dealership on the last day of January (when sales are really slow and they had about 6 LR4's to sell). Ours was full loaded, so most folks were not willing to shell out for all the options.

As for holdback - there is none for LR. Cars are currently on the lot for less than 30 days. Dealerships are not tying up much money in the financing. The best site I found to determine pricing and local market conditions is truecar.com

Good Luck! You'll love the LR4. The current model with the 375 HP engine is actually a bit faster than the older RRS (up to 2009), though I am sure the handling is dramatically different since the RRS is designed to be a bit more aggressive for street performance (despite the fact that they share the same chassis).

Good point re: location -- right now we're in NW FL (closest LR dealer is in Mobile, AL). But, we're moving to Monterey, CA this summer.

Thanks for the great input -- I really appreciate it. BTW, your Nara Bronze Lux is exactly what we want!

Anyone else have different experiences?

We just got our LR4 last week. We were looking for a 2010 used but found they were going for about the same price as new ones here in North Texas, so we got a brand new one. I've known the dealer for a while, he has 3 LR stores and he told me the same story about tight supply and asked me if I could wait until March to purchase when he would have more inventory and could make us a better deal. Unfortunately I sold my wife's previous car so we had to get something fairly quick.
