Default LR4 Second Row Head Rests

Hello,

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2014-2016 LR4.

I noticed that nearly all models have second row head rests that stick straight up and sit on top of the second row of seats that obstruct the driver's view through the rear windows.

However while shopping online I ran into a few LR4s that have this style of headrest shown in the image below that don't obstruct the driver view and are flush to the seat. Can anyway let me know which model this can be found on and if you can purchase this style of head rest after market? I looked on some car part websites and ebay and couldn't find this style of headrest.

Another question I have before purchasing is if anybody who owns a white LR4 with black pack, are there any cons to black pack with the black grill and finishes? I am undecided between a black pack LR4 and a regular one.

Thanks for your help!

I think it is a base model thing. My 2006 LR3 with very few options has that style. The 2007 with a lot of options has the other style.

If memory serves, this is dependent on whether or not the LR4 has a third row. Vehicles without 3rd row seating get the style you desire, and in your photo I don't see a third row seatbelt. The problem I would be concerned about is that I've never seen one that isn't an entry level vehicle devoid of the options I desire.

That said, I don't find rear visibility to be a problem with the more common headrests, however I do have the center seat headrest removed and only put it back on when I know I will have someone in that seat.

I think they are the same style: the headrests move up and down! In the way on my Range Rover, I just push them down. I find I need to lube the rails every so often as passengers in the rear seat are struggling to raise them.

Excellent! Thanks so much for the insight on that! Not even the dealers could answer that question :-)
