Default Gas Cap/Air in Fuel System

New to the forum and did a quick search on this, but did not find anything. I have a 2011 LR4 HSE (still under warranty) that I just brought into the dealer for a check engine light. The dealer told me there was air pockets in the fuel system that they had to flush. He also told me the code indicated it was a loose gas cap, so the repair is not covered. Cost of repair $270. Has anyone had this issue before?

I know that I tighten the gas cap as does my wife, so I am suspicious of the cause and really just want to make sure that whatever they do, gets covered under warranty... Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
