Lr4 hse

I'm not familiar with LR's and looking to purchase my first one. I have a co-worker who has a LR4 HSE LUX and i totally fell in love with it but got heart broken when i found out the price. I found an 2010 LR4 HSE at a dealership but it has close to 75000 miles and they're asking for around 35G which is a more realistic number that I can have financed over a new one. My concern though is how reliable are the LR4's and is it worth purchasing the vehicle with such a high mileage? Thanks in advance for any input!

They are reliable and will need good maintenance. If you are an oil change once every 25,000 if it needs it or not, then it is not for you. Many on this forum are keeping up vehicles with 150,000 to 225,000 miles, but of the D1 and D2 variety, most LR3 and LR4s have not been used quite that much. If you are not a DIY owner, then an indy mechanic is a must (and maybe have him do a pre-purchase inspection), the dealer prices are sky high. Maintaining fluids more frequently than called for in the manual is a plus in adding life to vehicle. Changing battery every two years elminates a lot of electrical gremlins. Never allow it to overheat. If buying from a dealer negotiate an extended warranty. And shop around, the first one you dance with may not be the one. As for miles, I normally keep my vehicles until 300K, so I'm not worried at 75,000. I bought my D1 for $1750 (about 183K now) and enjoyed tinkering with it, and I can't imagine that you will have 20 times more fun than I have. Just pointing out that Rovers come in a variety of price ranges.

We've got about 53,000 on our 2010 and still running strong. That being said, the price seems way high for one with 75,000 miles. With those kind of miles, I'm sure it's an asphalt queen. Is it a LUX or LUX Plus?

I appreciate the input, LR4's an HSE.

There were different HSE packages. There was the LUX and the LUX plus. The plus came with the surround camera system, full size spare and locking difs/heavy duty package and some other stuff I can't remember. Check out the options to give you a better idea on pricing.

New Land Rover financing was .9% for a well qualified buyer, a fraction of what used will ever be.
New Land Rover comes with 4 yr 50000 warranty, and used one w/ 75k doesn't.
You'll also spend a couple thou for a good extended warranty,
(make sure you read and understand the policy)
If you're thinkin of spending 35k plus whats another14k
Food for thought...

Cheers.
