New 2013 LR4 buyer?
Hi All,
First post here. I have been enjoying reading about everyone's experiences with the LR4. My wife has decided that this is the vehicle for her and I have been putting together an order with our local dealer. We finally got around to ordering the 2013 LR4 with the option packages that we wanted and I went in to the dealer today to put down a deposit and hash out the details. Well, when talked to the sales manager about price he stated that it's basically MSRP. There is no wiggle room in the price. Period. I was sort of surprised. We are ordering a vehicle from the factory. He has no carrying cost or floor plan costs. He was very polite and not the least bit insulting, but was firm on the idea that there was no coming off the price. Has this been your experience as well? Is everyone paying sticker price on these vehicles? I just find that hard to believe. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated. Hope to be driving one when or if we pull the trigger and it shows up in March. |
Pricing is always going to be market dependent. Supply may still be tight for these vehicles. When I bought in 2010, I paid only $1,000 over invoice. It is my understanding that this is not the same deal they are offering today. I would suggest coordinating something through the Costco Auto Program. At least find out how much of a discount you can get, then use that as leverage. Once you have that start, you can start to use the service aspect to your advantage. They do not want to lose your service business. That might at least get you $1,500 off MSRP. Also, shop around a few dealerships if possible in your area.
Good Luck. |
When I bought my '12 LR4 a few months ago we got them down about $3,000 off the MSRP. But we also had a trade-in so that probably helped a bit.

Another vote for the Costco Auto program - that discount was our starting point and then we negotiated more after that back in 2010.

Thanks for the replies, all. I went ahead and purchased the 2012 that they had on the lot and my wife could not be happier with the vehicle. She's already put 350 miles on it in 2 weeks. :D

Congrats! We are new to LR's/LR4 and after a few weeks really enjoy it.
