Optioning out new LR4 2013
 

We're in the market for our first Land Rover, and are looking at a 2013 LR4 HSE Luxury Package.

It includes the upgraded surround sound, premium leathers, Xenon lights, etc. We also got the climate package, which I'm not sure is part of that standard or an option.

It does not have the Heavy Duty Package. Will we miss this?

It also does not have the Vision Assist Package. Does this mean we won't have a rear backup camera? Is the Vision Assist a big upgrade?

There was only a minor discount applied, so it came to $60,400 (Eastern US).

Does that sound right? Any pitfalls? The dealer has been good, but hasn't seemed willing to negotiate much on price. Apparently, there aren't a ton of these 2013s with the Lux package floating around. We need to get it in 2012 for tax purposes.

If you are towing or want to have the matching rim for your spare, or plan to go off road, then you will want the heavy duty package. As for vision assist, on my 2010, it included the surround cameras and auto folding side mirrors. The backup camera is not part of the vision assist, so you should be fine.

I would wait until tomorrow night, about 15 minutes before the dealership closes and go low ball them. They will want to be getting home to their families for Xmas dinner. Tomorrow and New Year's Eve are the absolute best days to negotiate a deal. They will wan to move it before December 31.
