I am having this same issue with our 2015 and ordered a replacement unit to be safe. Has anybody done this and can you confirm whether reprogramming is needed at the dealer? I have the Gap tool.

So, I bought part # LR090489 on ebay and saved quite a bit over the local dealer. Part is installed and works perfectly. I did not need any tools for reprogramming.

Thanks. Any issues or tips for the install?

Go to the link I posted above, it'll show how to disassemble everything... Honesty it was very easy and straight forward. Just a bunch of screws and a cable harness or two if memory serves. You'll be done in 30 minutes tops (from what I remember).

That would be fantastic. I got a decent price for the unit itself ($400) - I'm sure eBay would have been better) but at least I can try to hopefully avoid paying labor.

Thanks again for the replies, was able to complete the replacement and all works for now, no coding needed.

Good to hear. Also, you paid less than I did.

Did you replace the whole unit, was it just plug and play or did you have to take everything apart, like in the PDF that was posted
thanks
