You will love your Hawkeye. It really can do a lot. You do not need to get anything from a dealership. Where are you getting your new key from? If ebay, just look for one that comes with an uncut blank. Most come with one. One thing with the Hawkeye is that you need a barcode to program the key to your Rover. There are a lot of threads about how to do it, or you can PM the member Jafir on here. I know he has done a couple with his Hawkeye and is knowledgeable about it. The blank key can be cut by any local key cutter like Home Depot etc.

There is a bit of a learning curve, but just download the manual and get familiar with the menu structure. I have used my a lot in the few months I've had it. Definitely allows you to do a lot of DIY stuff that you might to have a shop do if you didn't have a Hawkeye. Good luck, and if you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask!

The Hawkeye is awesome. It allows you a lot of control over your Rover. I haven't heard of any book for faults. I mainly just use this site to search for the codes and see what pops up. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this site and can you help identify any codes that you are not sure of. I got the Hawkeye to re-program my instrument cluster I replaced it with one that had all the warning lights working properly. Also, the Hawkeye lets you do bulb checks to make sure things are working properly. If you have ACE or SLS, it also allows you to have full control over the systems. Like callibration and stuff. The Hawkeye can bleed your ABS module. It can program key fobs to unlock/lock the car. You can do loads of stuff with the security settings of your truck.
