4.6 into Range Rover Classic
I have a 1989 Range Rover Classic and I have been told that the 4.6 from the P38 will bolt straight in. Is this the case ?

Not exactly. But it can be made to work.
You're talking a v-belt RRC vs a serpentine belt P38. Front cover, distributor drive, fuel injection, etc. are all things you'd have to swap. |
Thanks for that, I have the serpentine belt RRC, (late 1989) and I am assuming I would have to change the computer also. ?

1995 was the only year the RRC came with a serpentine belt. You also have to get a blocking plate for where the crank sensor is on the GEMS or Bosch motor. Personally, I'd look for a GEMS block if you have a choice.

You will be reusing all the 14CUX EFI system so you won't need to get a new computer. Essentially, you'll want to take the intake from your '89 with the fuel rail, intake trumpets and plenum and move them over to the 4.6 long block.

Thanks Guy's I will take your advice on board and let you know how I went.
