Default Decent shackle mounts

well I just finished up my bumper with the exception of shackle mounts. I just wanted to get some opinions on what you guys think is the best way to go. There is weld on, bolt on, thick weld on, ect. I was even debating buying 2 hitch receiver shackle mounts and cutting them back and welding them on. More weld area for the 2x2” square. Cut down of course.

The first eye plate is best and should be fitted into the bumper through a slot cut into it and then welded from both sides.

I liked the eye on a bolt on plate but it then becomes quite a cumbersome lump on a sleek bumper, if it were me I would rather the weld in type with multiple pass stringers.

I have JATE rings up front and a hitch shackle in the rear. Never had an issue using either.

Jate rings are great if you are running a stock front bumper

Welded them up

They were built to bolt in but I didn’t think it would look good

So I cut out openings and slid them in from behind

My friend made these up for me out of 1&3/4 solid stock with a 1/2” plate

Finished after touch up paint. I even got a neoprene cover for the winch

What thickness plate have you mounted them in?
