Engine swap

2013 Range Rover Evoque bought used a little over a year ago, after two oil changes due to travel, engine dies. Repair shop says sludge! Grrrrrr... after some research I found that my engine is actually an engine made by ford.

Question?
Can I swap the current Range Rover Evoque Engine 2.0 L 4-cylinder with a Ford engine? I found the forum thread below... is there a way to make it work with a few changes in connections? Any advice or where to find any additional info would be so helpful.

I would wonder if the base engine is the same. As long as there are ports for all the needed sensors and you swap over to theRover stuff

If they shared the same ecu's for trans etc then yea, sure...no problem.

If you were to get a ford ecoboost short block and then add all the Rover stuff, it should work no matter what.

Since you are here, I am assuming you changed oil at proper intervals? Was this neglect due to the previous owner?

Many red flags here if you DID change the oil at proper intervals

Thanks for your replies...
My husband changed the oil himself. The extended warranty company refused to cover it because we didn’t get the oil changed through a company. The dealership refuses to give prior maintance records for the vehicle before we purchased it. Our policy says nothing about who can change the oil and we have receipts from when we bought the oil and filter. The dealership rented a rental car for us while they had our vehicle then because the repair was not cover by the extended warranty insurance company turned around and charged us for the $3900.00 rental. So I am out 3900.00 plus the cost of a new engine.

I need a lawyer...anyone know a FL attorney that has experience in making warranty companies fulfill their obligations?

any info is helpful

Question: would it be cheaper to rebuild my engine or buy one. The engine never locked up. It has been in for repair twice prior to this incident. Similar problems, won’t start, won’t stay running.
