I sprayed copper coat on the gaskets and thin film of Dirko on water passages.

I went with the copped too, but only because it was on the bench :)

i love that copper junk...it tacks gaskets in place for easy assembly

speaking of heads I have also seen LR race prep heads that have had extra camshaft towers, added to both end of the heads. the idea is it will eliminate cam shaft flex, but at the same time it would also add more aluminum mass to the ends of the heads near the water jackets. |
more mass at the ends is great .........if you have more gasket too?

by mass I am referring extra towers push against the camshaft , therefore apply more pressure the end of heads over the water jacket

are you guys talking bout metal hg or composite?
composite i put on dry, metal i use indian head shelak, i also use tiny bead of ultra black rtv on both sides of the intake gasket around every port on this engine, has worked fine so far, had the lower intake off 3 times and it has always been sealed and a bear to remove same with timing chain cover thin bead both sides of gasket i do use the hylomar on the lower to upper intake and the upper intake to plenum, talking gems engine not bosch |
