LPG conversion on 1995 --or older--info needed
 

Greetings to all you Land Rover.....uh.....enthusiasts,

After finallygetting the straight scoop from the state of California regarding alternative fuels, the option to convert to propane is only legal on vehicles made up to 1995. They indicated this will not change until someone comes up with $300-400K to certify a kit through the EPA and California Air Resource Board. And they further stated that no company has submitted a kit for this purpose (Hmmm...wonder why?)

The fine ---if caught running a system on a newer vehicle is $10,000 a day!

Anyway-- I am seeking information from those that actually own a Range Rover Classic, first year (1995) P38 Range Rover, or Discovery I that is currently running with eitherthe older technology system, or with the newer sequential system. If you are located in the US that would be helpful, but I welcome any comments or opinions from owners outside the country.

Many of our customers are parking, or selling ----their Land Rovers here as the cost of fuel for premium has approached $3.18 a gallon. I have a 1991 Range Rover Classic that I am considering converting to a dual-fuel vehicle. The RPI engineering kit--out of the UKlooks attractive, but then the sequential injection kits look like they may work better to approach the efficiency target.

Any luck? I'd love to get some first hand thoughts about the RPI kit.
