Need a little help with my warn winch install

Hi guys it been a while since I’ve been on the board. I’ve made some mods to my disco since. A few weeks ago I moded the front grill for more air flow and to support the winch solenoid.

Then installed a Casey Customs front bumper.

And last week the winch and homemade bracket for the winch solenoid.

This is a basic L bracket around 3 feet long, I cut off one side and bent it to a 90 then cut off the other side and bent a 90 the other direction so it could bolt to the upper and lower front supports.

Here are some better pictures of the finished product.

Where I’m at now is the winch wiring. I have a large positive cable from the solenoid, a large negative cable from the winch and a small thin ground cable from the solenoid that says motor ground.

I’m assuming the large positive and negative to the battery and the small ground to the frame.

Please lend me your advice on this.

Thank you

Good luck.

Get rid of that ugly fairlead and go synthetic rope and a hawse.
I ran the solenoid earth to the body and winch earth cable direct to battery neg terminal.
If you had used a contactor solenoid then wouldnt have needed to hack into your grille at all.
