off-road problem
 

I have a 1990 Range Rover. I have the differential unit and viscous coupling limited slip system. I went mudding, got stuck (the system is automatic) and my permanantly 4-wheel drive (AWD) wasn't working. only some wheels were spininng. is my differential unit and viscous coupling LSD broken? If not, what went wrong?? PLEASE HELP.

You don't have all wheel drive, at best with your system, you have 2, one front one rear at any given time.
I had to spend over $2500 to make my D2 crank all four wheels at once, out of 20 trucks I was with on a trail run today, only 3 of use could lock all four, some had 3 wheels, that being a locker in the rear and a open front diff, probably 14 only had 2 wheel drive. This is true with all 4wheelers and a misleading name to call them.

Sounds like your Rover didn't come with Electronic Traction Control....... Best bet is to get some ARB Air Lockers installed and run them when off road.

Have you installed ARB's on your 02? If so, how did you get around not having a CDL or are you just running with an open t/case?
