Default OME lift

I got on the phone with Tony today and talked about getting a lift. He was very helpful and walked me through all my options, giving pros and cons of each. After a thorough discussion, I opted to go 2" with the coil set-up on the rear, rather than the spacer "trick the suspension" route.

The order is in and I can't wait for the parts to start showing up!!

I chatted with a local off-road shop about installing the new shocks and springs. They wanted $90 per corner. Does $360 sound a little steep for this installation?

$360 is about right for a shop installation.

read this. doing the installation yourself isnt that difficult.

How about you and a friend doing the lift on your driveway? All you need is a little time, a floor jack, 2 jack stands. tools and a six pack. Think about all the fun you could have with that $360 somewhere else.
Glad Tony took good care of you.

WOW, that really is a lot simpler than I expected! I think we'll have a go at it this weekend. It should make for a fun Saturday afternoon project!

I never would have considered doing this myself. Thanks so much for the suggestion and link to the instructions!!

Last of the parts arrived yesterday! Now, if only it'd stop raining . . . the lift may have to wait until THIS weekend

Right, will do! Here's the before with the running boards, and after I removed them. I'll put in the after with the lift as soon as it's done!

YES!! All installed, and it is GREAT!! The rear ended up a little over 3 inches higher, and the front probably 2.5. After pulling off the running boards and installing the lift,it looks a lot more like a truck now rather than a soccer mom vehicle .

Of course, now my dash is all lit up like a Christmas Tree, but I have an appointment at the nearest Land Rover Dealer (115 miles away[:@]) at 8am tomorrow toget the Computer reprogrammed to understand that it is now riding on coils, rather than air. That should clear up the warning light issue. They quoted me $90 for that.

I will post some pics as soon as I get them loaded onto my computer and resize them.
