Question DEF Fluid Level

Hey guys with the Td6 engines, according to the manual I should be able to see the DEF level under Vehicle Information on the console display. I am not seeing it listed anywhere in there. Additionally, the system says it can't read my oil level either. Anyone else experiencing this, time for a visit to the dealer?

Mine also says it can't read the oil level. I keep meaning to try again when the engine is hot, but forget to do it.

oil level reads when engine is off. But manual says to run engine and reach operating temp first...

What has been your experience with how often you have to fill the DEF tank? I got the low level light after 2500 miles, which seems on the low side to me. I also had to have mine towed because I got a "Diesel Exhaust Fluid Dosage Malfunction Error" shortly after. It's currently at the repair shop being evaluated.

I have just over 7000 miles on my Td6 and have refilled the DEF twice, but was unsure how full it was when I purchased my vehicle. It seems like I'm going through one 2.5 gallon jug every 3000 miles or so. Pretty simple to buy just about anywhere and takes 5 minutes to refill.

To see how many miles left on your DEF level you need to go under Vehicle Information while the vehicle is off.

Disappointingly, it only gives you the miles left, not the actual level.

I added DEF after the first 4,500 miles. Then it's been about every 3,500 since probably because I'm very cautious not to overfill it (BAD!)

Also, buy it at WalMart. It's cheap.

Do you mind share how do you refill?
I see that LR DEF comes in small bottle with a special nozzle attach to the filling port, been wondering if it is necessary to buy a few bottles first..

I’ve now got two 0.5 Gal (1.89 l) bottles from my local dealer. They are very easy to use, but also very easy to refill.

Next time I need AdBlue I’ll take a 20-litre plastic drum with a non-brass tap to my local petrol (gas) station and refill from the truck fill station at about 1/10th the cost of the genuine product. I believe all AdBlue is the same.

No, it's not necessary to buy the bottles first. the containers I buy at WalMart have a short hose/nozzle that fits into the filler hole easily. You just need to pour it in slowly as it gurgles alot.
