Default Disco 5 Infotainment Upgrade

Has anyone done an upgrade on their Infotainment screen? I have a '17 Disco HSE and it has the usual "slow" response and clunky screens and I want something a little quicker and steamline.

Have you done all software updates? Mine isn't slow and clunky at all. '17 Disco here.

Default Update failure

I have just purchased a 2018 disco hse.
set up accounts on app and connected phone Wi-Fi and even a data sim but no connectivity to the internet.
app says my car is asleep since the day I connected using the service tool button.
says no system updates available and telematics update just keeps spinning, looks like the current software is 2018, does anyone know how I can get it updated to latest vs?

You may have to turn your phone into a mobile hotspot and connect your Disco to your phone as "wi fi" to update. Or take it to a dealer and see if they can do the update for you. Should be free of charge.

Hi thanks for the reply, have spoken to jot who have advised it’s going to cost Ł200 to update, is there anything anywhere that states it should be free? I have seen it complimentary but they are pretty sure it’s not.

You do need a certain level of update before it can do OTA updates. I just connect mine to the wifi of my home when in the driveway.

@Urban owner
My '18 D5 had to go back to the dealer three times post purchase to resolve a similar issue. There was something about a "shared secrets" routine that had to be performed before all the incontrol features would work properly. This should have been part of the new owner handover, but they clearly did not do it. Mine was under warranty at the time, but you could make the case that they did not properly prepare the system for you when you purchased it.
