Default First servce?

Just had it pop up today, first service due in 1,600 miles. I have less than 5K on it now. I had heard of some going almost 10K before the first one. Now I wonder...and anyone have an idea on what this will cost?

My 2018 has also 5,000 miles on it and I brought the car in yesterday for the first Oil Change. They also rotated tires, updated the infotainment software to 18D, applied a fix to the door below the infotainment in the middle console.

Since I bought the car at the dealership, my first oil change was free, so paid $25 for the tire rotation. This was probably the cheapest service visit ever with LR.

Is this for it not always opening on its own? Mine sticks sometimes and I have to pull it down.

That’s correct. Sometimes it opened 5 times in a row and was stuck the next time. There is a service bulletin out for it and my dealer had a repair kit installed. Works consistently now.

Do you have the TD6 or Si6?
Mine is a Si6 and has 3k miles on it now and still said over 10k before the first service. I will probably take it in at 5k miles for the first oil change, not sure I want to run that long on the first oil fill with breaking in the engine.
I suspect cost will vary by dealer and area, since we live in the SF Bay Area it will be an arm and a leg for any service.

I have the Si6...Frankly I was both surprised that it may go almost 10K..Then surprised it might need it at 5K.
I guess I'll call to see what the cost might be. I'll post it.

I thought it had a 15,000 mile (or 1 year) service interval on the Si6? Agree that seems long but think it's the LR recommendation?

I called the dealer this AM. They said it is 1 year or mileage...
So....my next time in they will reset it and I have to remember when I come up to a year.
The service costs....
$40.00 for tire rotation
$110. for the oil
$60.00 for the oil filter
And labor is the balance.
Aprrox $210.00...

I can't find a page on their website that provides the service/maintenance schedules (which would be helpful). However the service indicator was at 15600 miles when we took delivery. Need to check it now after about 3k miles. But as I said , will probably do the first oil change at 5k and a cabin filter change (had the Disco with the bad Norcal fires).

Will see after that what the real service interval is, but 15k seems very long.

Thanks , good info. Will be interesting to see what it costs here, ours will probably go in March/April.
