Td6 rear-axle noises
 

My 2018 Td6 now 2 days out of its 4-year LRNA warranty, 40,000 miles, just started making clunking sound from rear left or maybe differential. Nothing major (yet) but has anyone else had experience of the lifetime of rear-axle components?

I also just had a "reduced performance mode" event to mark this birthday week but that went away after an engine restart. Will check the codes to see if it registered there.

I noticed clunking notices a couple of weeks ago. Going from reverse to forward seems to make this noise. Nothing else is noticeable.
everything’s works as it should( did do a 2 hr Landrover experience in California 2 weeks ago without any issues using all the bells and whistles)

My understanding is that this is a pretty common issue with the locking rear diff. The locking component needs to be replaced I believe. Do you have locking rear diff?

Yes I do have the locking rear diff. I haven’t heard of that problem.
just replaced my rear locking diff on my 2006 LR3
