Default Disco wannabe

Hi guys and gals,

I'm looking for my first LR and have decided the Discovery will be my first one, but I'd like some input on whether to get a Disco I or II. Right now, budget constraints won't let me pop for new one and honestly I'd like an older one with the new knocked off. My intent is to find a good one I can mildly make ready for off-roading, but still have good street manners. I've always liked to looks of the Discos over any other SUV out there. In the past, I've owned and wrenched a 76 Bronco, 72 CJ5, 79 CJ7, XJ Cherokee and several full size trucks, so I'm no stranger to off-roading.

If you have time, share with me views of the I & II Discos, what to look out for and help me in my quest.

Thanks,

Richard

Default RE: Disco wannabe

For off roading the Disco I is the best (US) D-90 big bucks.
The Disco II is better on road and not bad offroad.
Working on them the Disco I is much easier.
I have had a few 4X4's and the problem was by the time
I got to where I was going I was beat to death.
Now with my Disco when I get to a 4X4 spot hundreds of miles away
I not tired. So its four low and go!!!
