Default Hello all!

My wife and I recently bought a pair of 2002 LR Disco IIs

Have been a Rover fan for a while but not an owner until now.
I am completely new to LR but have been a "car guy" my whole life.
Will try to post some pics later.

Cheers,

Not sure if a Rover could drop out of an AC-130...

Down load the free factory tech manual set called the RAVE below.

Check the tech sticky area for lists of things to do for new2u Discos.

Change oil early and often, like every 5000. Basic dino oil is Shell Rotella, good down to 32 F, lots of cleaning chemistry for diesel engines, which does nothing but good things for a Rover.

Be on the watch for temp guage above 9:00 (engine computer sends the signal to you guage, it is not linear, it is not test equipment, it is an idiot light with a pointer. Scanner that can read live data is a worthwhile investment, you will be surprised at the wide range of temps that the guage makes look normal.

Oil pressure light come on at 7 PSI, meaning you can drive around killing the engine at 9 PSI. Check fluids every week - leaking reputation is no joke. Consider after market oil guage.

Listen for "chirp" - that's the noise the front prop shaft makes just before it comes apart and spears the transmission. DIY rebuild (must be done in advance!) in the tech area of the D1 forum section, covers D1 and D2.

Cool, thanks for the heads up.
We bought them from a reputable dealer that only sells Landies but isn't a "Land Rover Dealer".

While I didn't rig anything except for when on detail, I'm sure you could rig a Disco for air drop. Just not mine
