It's almost been a whole year...
Hey All,
Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I just recently aquired a 2004 Discovery 2. I've been a rover fan since I was a kid and saw the camel trophy on TV, and had the opportunity to pick up one that I liked. These forums have been amazing on helping me bring the truck up to par, so I thought I'd join and share some of the successes I've had.

Here are a few photos. Couple weeks after we brought it home, and our first camping trip with the D2.
The first year of D2 ownership was pretty standard from what I've read. I've included the list for the curious.New headers and gaskets were done 1 month before purchase by PO.
Replaced broken passenger mirror.
Replaced oil pan gasket.
Replaced cracked A pillar trim
Replaced worn shift boot and brake boot
Replaced tail lights
Replaced SAI and used JUKE's K&N Filter upgrade
Replaced coolant lines & expansion tank
New master cylinder
New front brake calipers and new pads all around.
Installed new plate for the hydraulic step
Installed Ladder
Reseated and created new gaskets after headlight cleaning
MacGuyver'd a new sunroof shade clip from a shelving L bracket that I painted.
Installed new drip rail corners.
Installed bumper and taillight lamp guards.
Installed britpart dashpeel kit.
Found cupholder inserts as the truck didn't come with any.
Restored headlights
Sanded out pitting, and repainted wheel arches and wheels black.
Added 180 Thermostat
New ancillary pulley
New serpentine belt
Still to do:
Chase down A Pillar/Roof leak
New spark plugs, wires, and coils
Remove front bumper to fill and repaint plastic chip
Replace springs
Install Custom A bar.
Install Roof Rack
Fix Radio popping and figure out what to do with the busted CD changer under the passenger seat.
Add CB Radio
Install front lamp guards
Install rock sliders

I've got the exact same problem. Planning to pull the headliner in a few weeks and spray it with bedliner. Planned on addressing it then, but I'll make sure to take plenty of photos and do a write-up. I've also got a TSB somewhere documenting a similiar problem. The solution was supposed to be a crack in the right front drip molding. I found a new one at the salvage yard so I'll go over that too if some epoxy doesnt do the trick. I'll also be taking an amateurish look at the sunroof and see if there are any issues there.
