Default In love... again...

Many years ago when I had no responsibilities and could truly afford to thrash (and then repair) a LR I had a 96 Disco I that I drove everywhere. Regrettably I sold her a few years later (for some dumb reason I'm sure) and have been kicking myself ever since.

Last week I found a lifted '96 Disco with a few mods and brand-new tires. The price was right and the rest is history.

Already I have spent more time underneath the thing than I have spent driving it, but that's just how it goes. I'm looking forward to every turned wrench and busted knuckle because ultimately, this is THE vehicle that I want to drive. PERIOD!

I have already sent countless hours searching this forum so I know how helpful everyone here can be and I am already eternally grateful for such an active community.

I Live in the mountains of Western North Carolina so if any of you are local any advice on finding local clubs or trails would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Plenty of rover guys in that area. Some are doing a ride on Mother's Day off I-40 near the TN boarder on Hurricane Creek Rd. Here are a few other places you can find a lot of local LR guys in your area. I do a lot of my trail riding in that area as well and know some of these guys.

Blue Ridge Expeditions is out of Marion, NC and they do trail rides in late January, and mid-Summer in the Pisgah National Forest

There are a handful of these guys that are going to be hitting the Uwharrie National Forest trails the weekend of May 18. The details are on WNC Rover group FB page.

Also, fall event Oct18-20 at this same location about 50 trucks or so around 100-125 people. Lot of good folks and full range of stock to heavily modified rovers. This is the Old North State Event named "Uwharrie Rover Event" (URE). CROC does a mid-April event at the same location called "Uwharrie Safari". You can find video of Uwharrie on YouTube as well as some videos from each of these two clubs in particular at Uwharrie.
