New Disco II Owner in DFW
Hey everyone, just picked up a '99 Discovery II with 65,000 miles. The truck looks to be pretty well taken care of and I'll be doing the 60k service soon, and downloaded all the RAVE stuff last night. This forum has already been a great help over the past few days while looking for my Land Rover, and I'm sure will continue to help me with anything I run into in the future. Here's a picture of my new Disco

If you are within 100 miles of the Mixmaster, a 180F replacement thermostat is a good idea, along with an Ultra Gauge ($70). It is a scanner, code reader/reseter, and displays live data like coolant temp and electrical volts. The oem heat gauge points at 50% from 130-240F, you may want to see that in greater detail, driving at 225F for months is not helpful.
The D2 also has a front drive shaft that is factory sealed on one end, which dries out, snaps, and beats a hole in the transmission case. Avoid by rebuild in our tech area, or drive line shop, or aftermarket shaft, and grease 'em all every oil change.
One of my favorite tire covers is from Ft Worth, that's a lot of bull, just like my posts.
