Looks like I got rid of one of the 'Gremlins" , a few more to work out. I got my Disco1 for $600. and towed it home. It looks great and runs great! as for the gremlins, It gives me something to do. Just the little bit I have driven, makes me sure that I bought the right vehicle. I was looking for something that could pull my snowmobile trailer and not get stuck all the time. my 86 GMC jimmy (2.8l V6) was a little weak for pulling the trailer but did nicely in the snow. This has much more room and the big feature.... you can put a car seat in the back seat for the grandchild!!! just over 2 months old....

Magna- Thanks for the reply. I got a laugh out of your description of the lingo. Sounds like a Dennis Miller rant, but i understood your explanation!

I like the advice and will look for a LR indy mechanic. totally understand the value in that and the pre purchase evaluation. I have learned here already routine maintenance is key and hopefully signs of that show through in an evaluation.

The jeep i currently have I bought from a chrysler mechanic so I know it will go way beyond its current 140k. they are a great vehicle but small inside and very basic. fine for around town but i have family 5 hours away and that was not a comfortable drive.
Thanks for the advice and information.
