Falken Azenis FK510

Having studied many highway tires and trade results these take some beating for the price and performance, Falken Azenis FK510, don't be put off by the name etc, they are manufactured in Japan by Sumitomo the same company who make Dunlop tires.

Those look more performance oriented...
They are rated at High performance summer tires and I don't care how great of a 4 wheel drive system you have, summer tires in the dead of winter plus snow, (to those that experience snow) you aren't going anywhere. Mercedes puts Summer tires on the G63 in the states and had to release a dealer bulletin about the pitfalls of summer tires in snow. Their recommendation, buy all seasons or winters.

You are correct sir, they are high performance summer 4x4 tires for the highway where snow isn't an issue. We rarely suffer from snow here on the west coast of France so they are ideal. I should imagine there are many places in the US that have similar climates to western France. I drive all the year round on summer tires and mostly it rains here during winter so the extra wet grip is ideal. Here there is no reason for winter or all weather tires where I live and the A class autoroutes are generally kept free of snow and ice.
