Rain, rain, go away...

12.98 inches of rain last month, and 8.63 so far this month:mad:. Sure wish our summer had been longer than 3 weeks this year...:(

Chris-bob 09-07-2011 10:52 AM

This months average is supposed to be 13.13"...looks like we'll be above average...again. Next months average is supposed to be 20.85"...

Actually, the average winter temp is 36*. IF it snows, it melts within a day or two.

Chris-bob, it's affecting us here in the northeast as well. I know Irene was a modest hurricane in many ways but it did drop close to 10 inches on us in less than 24 hours. Since then we've had rain, rain, rain. In the last 24 hours it's been about 2 inches. The first clear day will be Friday but who knows what will come after that. I say enough already.

I know it may not be a popular topic amongst most off-roaders but, I'm sorry, 98% of all CLIMATOLOGIST have to have greater insight into what's going on with our climate than the people at Fox News.

Paul Grant 09-08-2011 09:10 AM

We got another 2.1 inches overnight. That's 5.66 inches in three days. Friday's forecast has been changed to more rain.

Chris-bob 09-08-2011 12:02 PM

Now at 11.43 inches for Sept:(...I'm not complaining too much. I do live in a rain forest and the average annual rainfall is 152.7 inches. That's just over 12 feet of rain each year:eek:. So my rain isn't anything out of the ordinary like you guys. I just get tired of it some days(weeks:rolleyes:) Right now I just want to go out and ride my Vespa, but it's too wet to have fun...

the county i live in is pretty close to sea level, most of the parkways are shut down and you can imagine outside of New York City is not somewhere you want to travel when 1/2 of the main roadways are shut down from being flooded.

Chris-bob 09-08-2011 01:35 PM

Sounds like it could have it's fun moments and it's sucky moments...

Paul Grant 09-08-2011 01:44 PM

WTF it's actually a beautiful sunny day here today contrary to the dreary forcast.
