What do you know about Independence/Kansas City MO
So the Army has decided that it is time for me to move again and in January I'll heading to my new duty station in Independence MO.
So who knows about the area. Where to live and not to live, good school districts (elementary) any off roading, and if you know a good horse riding stable (for my daughter) that would be great info as well.
Thanks in advance

AR, I know Kansas City was one time steeped in history over a century ago and it figured highly in the US development. I have, however, never been to any city in the world yet that hasn't changed out of all recognition over decades and rarely fails to disappoint. Fortunately I believe you are located some way out of town on the east side so can 'pick' your location for living.
Cities just don't 'float my boat' and now I hate them and dread visiting them - noise, people, traffic, crime, parking problems and general stress.

I don't know much about Independence, MO, but Liberty, MO is nice. The best parts of the Kansas City metro area are on the Kansas side; Overland Park, Mission, Prairie Village. My understanding is that the schools are better on the Kansas side too. It could be a long haul to live in Kansas and work in Independence.
