Mud under the doors Discovery 2014

After hunting tour, I discovered that there is a significant mud clumps under the door rims accumulated that are only seen when the doors are open. Anyone has experienced the same problem? Is that normal? If not (and I suspect it shouldn't be normal) what can one do about it? The dealer said that this is normal, but I suspect it shouldn't be.

Thank you for any response.

Mud is worse than water, you can see where you have been. Is it below weatherstripping? If so it is normal.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, it is below weatherstripping, the part that goes under the car body. Any ways to prevent it? Or perhaps one shouldn't because it has a purpose (I don't see what that purpose might be though).

Thanks again.

The weather stripping keeps water and the mud out of passenger compartment, anyway supposed to. Dirt lower than weather stripping is normal. Make sure you keep door drains cleaned out and clear of debris.
