Default WTB: R380 manual box; Northeast US

Hi,

Does anyone have a r380 manual box for sale? Looking for a unit to swap into my '95 Classic LWB. Preferably would include the clutch, pedal box, and trans mounts...but also OK with just the box to start!

Thanks all!
Tom

A couple of things to keep in mind with regard to the R380 and the engines it's mated with. First, I doubt the bell housing is the same for coupling with a Rover V8 and a Rover 300Tdi. Second, you have to make sure that the shifter is not a long stick if you want to use it in a RRC conversion. I could be mistaken but I believe the R380 was offered with a long stick in the Defender and a short stick in the DI and ROW RRC's. Ideally, you want to find an R380 from a DI that had a V8 engine otherwise you're making things more complicated for yourself.

Thanks Paul! Always great to hear from someone who actually knows what they are doing, as opposed to me . Do you have any leads on a D1 R380? One of them popped up on craigslist here in Boston recently but the seller never responded to my emails. I think someone snatched it up quickly.
