02 RR 4.6 P38 Guitar strings in the dash?
Hello all. Outside here there is nothing but snow and ice. As I was turning over some mounds of ice slowly I heard what only could be described as if someone is plucking a guitar string or a deeper bass sound/cord. The sound is coming from the dash on the extreme left. I have also heard this when slowly turning the ignition (intermittently) on flat surface. Any comments explanations are most welcome to this bizarre behavior/sound.

I swear I heard this when applying the break and having the ABS come on. But that does not sound like what is going on with you. I hear a ping noise sometimes coming from the car after turning it off and slamming a door. Was always told that was the suspension. I have been hearing alot of strange noises recently. Don't think the Rover is enjoying the -28 we had here the other night.

Sounds like the traction control to me too. Occasionally mine will go CLUNK when I am about to start the engine with the key in the II position as you described.
Rover sounds = The Rover's mood. Mine makes a different one every day . Even has a distinct clicking noise in it's suspension when off-roading. Reminds of an old dog grunting up a hill.
